We're the creators of the Scar Pin, we rebuild marine hydraulics to perform like new, and we machine custom hardware when off-the-shelf won't cut it. Instead of wrestling tiny rings on a pitching deck, the Scar Pin secures with an integrated double-ended wrap: quick to set, quick to release, and snag-free so it won't catch your spinnaker on the way up or down.

The story
Scar Industries Inc. was founded in 1996, but the story starts long before that. 43 years ago, on the water, learning what gear holds up and what lets you down when it matters most.
That's the difference behind everything we build: it comes from a sailor who has actually been out there.
Over 32 years of professional rigging, we've tuned, repaired, and rebuilt just about every system a sailboat can throw at us. Along the way, one frustration kept coming up: fumbling with ring-dings to make a quick rig adjustment, often at the worst possible moment. So we did something about it and created the Scar Pin, a faster, snag-free way to dial in your rig. Today sailors across the country trust it on their boats.
That same hands-on, problem-solving approach drives the rest of what we do. We refurbish marine hydraulics until they perform like new, and we machine custom hardware when the part you need simply doesn't exist off the shelf. No guesswork, no shortcuts. Just gear built and serviced by someone who understands exactly what you're asking it to do.
Over 30 years on, that hasn't changed. We're still a Long Island shop that takes pride in quality craftsmanship and dependable service, whether the job is a five-dollar pin or a full hydraulic rebuild.

Steve's Crazy Ass Rigging
The name came from Steve's wife, and it stuck. It's been on the door ever since.
